FAQ
Q: So, what's the deal here?
A: Concourse is a tool to make planning gatherings easy, even if you don't know the schedule of everyone who can attend, or even who can attend in the first place.
Q: How does that work?
A: OK, so you've got this meeting, right? A bunch of people have to come to this meeting, but you don't know when they are going to be available. So what you do is sign on to Concourse and create a new meeting. You provide some details and a list of folks you'd like to attend. When you're done, each person gets an email asking them to please enter their availability for the meeting.
Q: Then what?
A: Each person can then log in with the URL provided in the email to specify the times they can make it to the meeting. When everyone has entered their times, the organizer can then be asked to decide upon a time, and his decision will be informed by what everyone had said. Once he's decided, everyone is informed of the time, and that's when it will happen.
Q: What, all this for free?
A: Of course.
Q: Why?
Concourse was conceived and developed as an entry for RailsDay 2006, a 24-hour programming competition. Plus, it's just been a whole lot of fun to develop.
Q: Any closing remarks?
A: Thanks for taking the time to look at Concourse; we had fun making it and hope it will be useful. Thanks to Mark James for nice icons.
